Ayla Davidson, Education Director and Tour Manager
Ayla is Bated Breath Theatre Company's Education Director as well as Tour Manager. She first came to work with Bated Breath Theatre Company as Stage Manager on Interludes: Beyond the Foot of the Stage for Real Art Ways. Most recently she was Stage Manager for Wild Things: The Life and Work of Maurice Sendak for the New Britain Museum of American Art. Ayla strives to bring quality educational theater experiences to wide audiences and to integrate the arts into classroom curricula. She is able to do this daily working full time for Hartford Stage in the Education department as the Associate for School Programs, bringing theater arts classes, residencies, and productions to schools across Connecticut. As a freelance artist, Ayla has led professional developments with Hartford Performs, was Drama Consultant for Montessori Magnet School, and has been stage manager for Manchester Musical Players, Ekklesia Contemporary Ballet, Sonia Plumb Dance Company, Hartford Children’s Theatre, and ARTFarm. Prior to arriving in Connecticut, Ayla toured Italy with Theatrino, a collaborative company of actor educators who perform fairytales and sketches to Italian school children to teach the English language.
