BATED BREATH GOES TO THE WADSWORTH ATHENEUM:
THE TOULOUSE-LAUTREC PROJECT
On November 1st and 2nd (2012) audiences packed Morgan Great Hall at the Wadsworth Atheneum to journey back in time to the world of Paris in the late 1800's. Bated Breath created the seductive world of Toulouse-Lautrec's Montmartre and the Moulin Rouge through this brief exploration of Lautrec's life and work. Site-specific, using the balcony and grand marble staircases and landings of the Wadsworth Atheneum, Bated Breath brought to life both the beautiful and the grotesque images that haunt Lautrec’s work.
The Toulouse-Lautrec Project was part of the Wadsworth Atheneum's First Thursday event and kicked off the French Film Festival for their Medieval to Monet exhibition.
