Sarah Griswold (Board Vice President) has servced as a non-profit consultant for non-profit organizations, small and mid-size history museums, historical societies and libraries with historical collections. She was a Peer Advisor for the Department of Economic and Community Development and the Greater Hartford Arts Council. Her past work has included museum curating historic house executive director, researcher and program manager, public speaker.
Sarah has led workshops in aspects of museum management, visioning and governance. Sarah is also a former member of the board of the Connecticut League of History Organizations. She recieved her B.A. in Studio Arts fromWesleyan University.
Richard Curtis is a literary agent, author and author advocate. He is president of Richard Curtis Associates, Inc., a leading New York literary agency representing popular authors in a variety of genres. In 1999, anticipating the digital book revolution, he founded E-Reads, the first independent e-book publisher, which was acquired by Open Road Media in 2014. His interest in emerging media and technology has enabled him to help authors anticipate trends in publishing and multimedia. He has, blogged, lectured extensively and conducted panels and seminars devoted to raising consciousness in the author and agent community about the future of communications. He was president of the Association of Authors' Representatives.
He is the author of numerous works of fiction and nonfiction including several books about the publishing business and works of humor and award-winning satire. A few years ago he contracted Chronic Adult-Onset Playwriting Passion and has since written several full-length and short plays, several of which have been performed in New York City.
Ronda is a partner in Barrington Group Inc., a Florida based Residential Real Estate and Development company. Her responsibility lies in acquisition marketing, product design, and operational control for the six state portfolio of communities.
Ronda holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the Ohio State University.
Her personal interests lie in wellness and fitness. That passion lead her to a Board position with the Sarasota Family YMCA with commitments to Wellness oversight for the branches as well as long term Strategic Planning and Fund Raising involvement needed to support its social programs.
Ronda resides in Sarasota, Florida with her husband and two cats. A shared passion for theater and jazz takes her and her husband to NYC on a regular basis.
Emily Hawkins is a New York City based theatermaker. A new collaborator with Bated Breath Theatre Company, Emily works alongside AD Mara Lieberman in program development, production and fundraising. For several years, Emily worked in grants administration for the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs, shepherding over 1,000 NYC based arts and cultural organizations through the rigorous city government funding process. Recent producing credits include Sarah Treem’s When We Were Young and Unafraid presented at IATI Theater. Emily has also served as Stage Manager on several NYC productions, most recently Pigeonholed’s Mary Stuart, and worked in marketing and communications at American Player’s Theater (Spring Green, WI).
Henry Sheeran is a theatermaker based in Brooklyn, New York and sometimes Vermont. He graduated from The Gallatin School at New York University. He is a founding partner of Myka+Henry Productions as well as Capital J Theater Company. In the fall of 2018, Myka+Henry Productions teamed up with This Is Not a Theatre Company to produce Henry’s immersive play Gain! (performed in a weight room). In the summers of 2016 and 2017, Henry, as the co-artistic director of Capital J, produced and directed two of his own plays, Charlie and Bruno and Overnight. These plays, performed at The Pennington School in New Jersey, inaugurated the Pennington Alumni Theater Series (PATS), a program conceived by Henry. PATS had its fourth successful year this past summer. Currently, Henry works as an actor, playwright, director, and electrics technician at various theaters in New York and Vermont. He is thrilled to be on the Board of Directors of Bated Breath.
Estie Pyper is a New York City-based journalist and producer. By day (or rather, by night) she is an associate producer for Morning Joe on MSNBC. Beyond that, she freelances for multiple publications with an emphasis on the arts and proudly serves on Bated Breath's board of directors, helping to guide the company's press and social media presence. Past work credits include American Theatre magazine, Boro magazine, Straus News, and NBC's Early Today.
