Missy Burmeister, Executive Administrator and Core Company Member: Missy is featured in Bated Breath's most recent performance of Beneath the Gavel which will make its Off-Broadway debut in March 2017. She also performed in Bated Breath's The Unmaking of Toulouse-Lautrec at The New Britain Museum of American Art and at the Wadsworth Atheneum. Missy is a director and arts educator. A native of Texas, Missy ventured to the East Coast to work in the Education Department at Hartford Stage where she served as a lead teaching artist for in-school and residency programs. She currently teaches at the Greater Hartford Academy of Arts. In her free time, Missy serves on the board of Allongé Dance Variations, practices yoga, and cheers on the San Antonio Spurs. She received her BFA in Theatre and Television from Texas Christian University and her MA in Directing from Texas State University.
Ayla Davidson, Tour Manager and Education Director: Aya first came to work with Bated Breath Theatre Company as Stage Manager on Interludes: Beyond the Foot of the Stage for Real Art Ways. Most recently she was Stage Manager for Wild Things: The Life and Work of Maurice Sendak for the New Britain Museum of American Art. Ayla strives to bring quality educational theater experiences to wide audiences and to integrate the arts into classroom curricula. She is able to do this daily working full time for Hartford Stage in the Education department as the Associate for School Programs, bringing theater arts classes, residencies, and productions to schools across Connecticut. As a freelance artist, Ayla has led professional developments with Hartford Performs, was Drama Consultant for Montessori Magnet School, and has been stage manager for Manchester Musical Players, Ekklesia Contemporary Ballet, Sonia Plumb Dance Company, Hartford Children’s Theatre, and ARTFarm. Prior to arriving in Connecticut, Ayla toured Italy with Theatrino, a collaborative company of actor educators who perform fairytales and sketches to Italian school children to teach the English language.
